About Drug Channels Institute

Drug Channels Institute publishes independent analysis of the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain — how drugs are distributed, paid for, and dispensed, and who keeps the money at each step.

Who we are

DCI is the research and education arm behind Drug Channels, the industry’s reference on pharmacies, PBMs, wholesalers, specialty distribution, and 340B. The work is written for people who have to make a channel decision, not for a general business audience.

The institute is part of HMP Global. The reports, briefings, and courses are the same body of work the homepage already points at — this page is the institutional frame around them.

Founder

Adam J. Fein, Ph.D.

President of Drug Channels Institute and the author of the Economic Report series. The analysis on this site is the institute’s — written in that same channel-economics voice.

How we work

  • Independent

Analysis is not commissioned by a manufacturer, PBM, or wholesaler. The point of view is the channel’s, not a client’s.

  • Economic

Every piece starts from who pays, who is paid, and what the contract actually says — not from a policy slogan.

  • Operational

The useful output is something a trade, access, or finance team can take into a launch or a PBM negotiation.
